Fill a large bowl with water and ice.
Bring a large pot of water to a boil. (About 4 quarts for a pound of green beans.)
Add green beans to the pot and cook for about 3-5 minutes or until bright green.
Lift green beans out of the pot with tongs and submerge in the ice water to stop the cooking process. They should be cool and dry before you finish the recipe.
StorageGreen bean fries are best fresh from the oven. But if you do have leftovers, follow these guidelines for storage:
Refrigerator: Store green beans in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
Reheat: Warm in the oven or air fryer at 350°F until heated.
