This simple strawberry smoothie with yogurt is thick, creamy, and packed with protein. Healthy recipe using easy-to-find ingredients that's ready in minutes.

This smoothie is a copycat recipe of the Strawberry Beach™ Smoothie I used to enjoy at Tropical Smoothie Cafe. Unfortunately, they don't offer it anymore. Luckily, I've cracked the code or, at the very least, made a very yummy alternative!
I don't have their secret recipe. But, through trial and error, I figured out how to make an easy strawberry smoothie at home with ingredients I usually have on hand.
Once you have the basic formula down, it's easy to adjust with other fruits (and vegetables.) That's how we came up with a blueberry spinach smoothie!

Ingredients
Here's what you'll need to make the recipe:
- Strawberries - Use fresh or frozen berries. They should be partially frozen for the best result so the blade can cut through them during the blending process. If using fresh strawberries that are not frozen, add extra ice to thicken the smoothie.
- Ice - Crushed ice may work best if you don't have a high-speed blender.
- Yogurt - Use unsweetened plain yogurt or Greek yogurt. Greek yogurt will add a little more protein and make the smoothie a little thicker.
- Note: Flavored yogurt or already sweetened yogurt may work too. However, the flavor profile will differ, and the amount of sweetener required will vary.
- Lemon juice - Brightens the flavor.
- Sweetener to taste - Use your favorite sweetener. Any type will work, and the amount will depend on the sweetness of the berries.
We suggest a sugar alternative, like Stevia or Monkfruit, to keep this smoothie healthy and lower in carbs. Other sweeteners that will work include sugar, honey, maple syrup, and a combination of sweeteners. Turbinado sugar is often used at smoothie stores.
Directions
Here's how to make a strawberry smoothie with yogurt for one with a countertop or highspeed blender, like a Vitamix.
- Cut large strawberries into chunks.
- Add strawberries, ice, yogurt, lemon juice, and sweetener to a blender, cover, and blend until smooth.
Smoothies in a NutriBullet Magic Bullet
This recipe is easily adaptable for a Magic Bullet or similar appliance. Be sure to follow the manufacturer's directions for any personal-style blender as they vary.
For a Magic Bullet, leave out the ice and add the appropriate amount of water to the fill line instead.
How to Thicken
If your strawberry smoothie isn't the right consistency, add a little extra fruit or ice to make it thicker.
Important Tip: Taste-test the smoothie before you pour it out of the blender. It's easy to do and will avoid frustration. Then, add more strawberries, ice, or sweetener until you have the perfect consistency and taste.

Variations to Try
Replace strawberries with any combination of about 1 ½ cups of fruit. Some options include:
- banana
- blueberries
- mango
- pineapple
- cherries
- raspberries
